Monday, Monday. Here we go again. First things first, I did not win the FitFluential DietBet by losing 4% of my weight. Let’s move on.
I had a great weekend. Trivia with our friends on Friday night. Lots of productivity on Saturday. Went with hubby to his trail race on Sunday. It was great to spend some time outdoors, but boy was it COLD. Even with gloves on I could not feel my fingers after a while. Here are a few pictures I took:

Guess what I tried this weekend? Another recipe AND a new (to me) food. KALE! I had never tried kale before, but have been wanting to make kale chips. I did two batches. I think my third batch will be close to perfect. My first batch was a little messed up because I washed the kale (even though the bag said prewashed – which I noticed later). I couldn’t get the kale dry enough and I put too much salt/garlic salt and olive oil on it. My second batch I didn’t wash (since it was prewashed). I used lots of fresh ground pepper, tiny bit of kosher salt, olive oil, and minced garlic. Almost perfect. The third batch I will tear the stems out, put more pepper, and let cook about 2 minutes longer. Once I have the complete recipe I will share it with you! I figure this will be a great way for me to get more veggies in.
I took last week off activity. Why? My leg (the one that had surgery) started really bothering me on Monday. Not a sore pain from working out, but a sharp stabbing pain (that even woke me up one night). I decided to take it easy last week just in case. The leg just feels weird. There is no other way to describe it.
This week my plans are:
- Concentrate on drinking 48 oz (or more) of water daily
- Five 30+ minute workouts during the week
- At least 15 minutes of health coach studying (or work) per day
- Aim to make healthier decisions with each meal
- Drink less diet soda – do NOT drink it while at a restaurant
- See my new doctor and get a much-needed physical. Turns out I missed last years. Oops.
It has been a while since I have done a Motivation Monday, so let’s go!
Let’s Get Motivated
First things first – do NOT beat yourself up if you slip up and skip a workout (or two) or eat that cupcake (or two). It is not helpful in the least to dwell on it. Just move on and move forward!

Time to make some good habits: drinking water, moving more daily, eating more fruits and veggies. What good habits are you trying to make?

I love this. There is room for everything in moderation. And that’s my goal – to find the right balance. It will be different for everyone. Remember that what works for one person might not work for you.

Never stop trying – it will never be too late.

I love the way this goal pyramid is set up. What do you think? I think I will create one for March. Daily goals support your weekly goals, which support your monthly goals, which support your long-term goals.

Anything exciting planned for the week? How do you set your goals? How did you find your balance? What is motivating you this week?
Enjoy your day!

One of my new goals should be “rest when rest is needed”.
I totally rocked that one this morning!
After a crazy-busy weekend, I needed the extra sleep more than I needed the workout. Usually, I suck at listening to my body and resting when I need it. Go me!
Good luck with your goals this week!
Yeah for listening to your body! Go you!
Where was the trail run? It looks like “my” trails, at East Lakeshore, near Greenback.
Thanks for the motivation. I am bad to beat myself up over blunders. Week before last I crushed my 15 mi./week goal (I did 23!!). Last week I didn’t make it (just 10 mi.) Started this week out yesterday with 5 mi., so I am on pace!!
Hope you have a great week!
The race was at Big Ridge State Park in Anderson County, TN. It was beautiful up there. Have a great week!
no big workouts planned other than a trip to PF this week. Take care of that leg!
Thanks Tami! Hope to see you soon!
