Yesterday after work I headed to Planet Fitness for a quick, but intense workout. Check out what I did:

I felt like a badass in the weight area. Yes – like this:

I really enjoy strength training. I might have gone a little overboard yesterday, but it is a good kind of sore. The bench press/squat bar is “assisted” so that you can’t drop it or hurt yourself. This is great since I don’t have a spotter. I really want to encourage women not to be afraid of this area. Once again, I was the only female in the weight area. Strength training rocks ladies!

Looking for a great book on the subject? Try The New Rules of Lifting for Women: Lift Like a Man, Look Like a Goddess. This book goes into a lot of the science of strength training, but also has some great workouts.
After the weights I headed to the elliptical for a 10 minute H.I.I.T. workout. My arms and legs were jelly when I left the gym. The sign of a great workout.
Today’s agenda includes wrapping up a few work items and PACKING!
Do you strength train? Why or why not? Do you have a favorite book on the subject? Please share in the comments.
Enjoy your day! Make it awesome!

I LOVE strength training. I’ve always worked out, but used to be afraid of the weight room. There was and is such a dramatic difference in the results I see when I strength train. I only wish I had started sooner. Love, love, love it.
Have a great mother/daughter trip!
feeling like a badass rocks!!!
enjoy your vacay!!!!
best feeling! Strength training definitely makes me feel tough, like I can tackle anything!
I love strength training – AND feeling like a badass. Good thing they go hand in hand
You know I’m a BIG fan of strength training.
That is a great looking workout! Although the trainer in me has to say, that using free weights is preferable to the Smith Machine (which is what the assisted squat/press bar sounds like you’re describing) since that machine can hinder natural body movement and form. Either way, though, GREAT work!
Yes, I do strength/weights at least twice a week. I do have that book you mentioned but haven’t read it. I hired Tina (Best Body Fitness) to be my personal trainer online and she sends specialized workouts for me. I love them!
Oh and see, I look up and there she is commenting here lol
Way to go on your workout, you rock! Beach time is coming.
You will love Folly Beach:)
